Chuck - Dead Famous

Chuck - Dead Famous

Maybe the most unknown album I’ve ever posted. There doesn’t even seem to be an entry on RateYourMusic for this release (?!). I guess I’ll have to make one.

And it’s good! Really good even. It’s not some all-timer masterpiece, but it’s leagues better than some of the albums I’ve heard claimed to be underrated Britpop gems. I couldn’t believe my ears, what with the almost non-existent Internet footprint of this record.

I was also surprised by the splashes of Green Day-style pop-punk in this mostly Oasis and La’s reminiscent group. A fun mixture of influences backed up by rock solid instrumentation. These guys could play.

Favourites: Deep  Holly  Gone Too Far  Jump • Star Attraction  Slip Out  Pieces

Other Highlights: Just For A Laugh  What Good Is That Everytime I See You Soulsinger  Theresa
